A new species of Mexican Heliscus Zang, 1906 (Coleoptera: Scarabaeoidea: Passalidae)

Abstract

Mexican new species of Heliscus Zang, 1906 is described based on specimens collected in Pacula and Nicolas Flores, state of Hidalgo; Pinal de Amoles, state of Querétaro and, Xilitla, state of San Luis Potosí. Including this new species, in México Heliscus is represented by five species. The new species is compared with Heliscustropicus (Percheron, 1835), the most similar species. The taxonomic information is illustrated with draws of diagnostic characters and a map for its geographical distribution.
