Abstract

A new species of 𝑃ℎ𝑒𝑛𝑔𝑜𝑑𝑒𝑠, 𝑃ℎ𝑒𝑛𝑔𝑜𝑑𝑒𝑠 (𝑃ℎ𝑒𝑛𝑔𝑜𝑑𝑒𝑙𝑙𝑎) 𝑃ℎ𝑒𝑛𝑔𝑜𝑑𝑒𝑙𝑙𝑎 𝑛𝑜𝑣𝑒𝑙𝑜𝑖 sp. nov. is described from three specimens from Guatemala, this species is the third reported for the country and has a striking pronotal coloration pattern, and some aspects of coloration in the genus are discussed.
