Lectotype designations for Elateridae (Coleoptera) described by George C. Champion in the Biologia Centrali-Americana

Abstract

Lectotype designations are given for 181 species of Elateridae descritos pby G,C. Champion in the Biologia Centrali-America. New generic assignmens are given for Aeolus Flavipes (Champion) new combination, A. meridionalis (Champion) new combination, Paradonus quadriplagiatus (Champio) new combination, O. quadrisignatus (Champion), new  combination, P. teapensis (Champion) new combination. Cleidecosta Jonhson, new name, is presented to  replace the preoccupied Heligmus Candéze, Peralampes Jonhson, new name is presented to replace Heligmini which is based on a junior homonym. A classification of the Mexican and Central America taxa is presented. Images of 84 species from the region are presented.
