Harry Brailovsky y su relevancia como taxónomo en tiempos modernos

Presento aquí un reconocimiento a la trayectoria académica de Harry Brailovsky, quien ha tenido una prolífica carrera dedicada principalmente a la sistemática y taxonomía de Heteroptera (Insecta: Hemiptera), en la Colección Nacional de Insectos, Instituto de Biología, de la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México. Hasta hoy, Brailovsky ha descrito 1115 taxones, entre los que se cuentan tres tribus, 149 géneros y 963 especies de hemípteros; ha publicado alrededor de 400 trabajos como artículos, libros y capítulos, en los que ha descrito casi el 1% del total de especies de hemípteros conocidas en todo el mundo. Brailovsky ha sido investigador durante los últimos 48 años, y desempeñó el cargo de Curador General de la Colección Nacional de Insectos durante tres décadas. Actualmente, el impacto de su trabajo es relevante tanto para la Entomología como para la Sistemática, a escala nacional e internacional.Downloads
