This study was conducted in the municipalities of Villaflores and Villa Corzo, Chiapas State of México, where five sites for each municipality were sampled to determine taxonomically associated insects to the fruit of the physic nut (Jatropha curcas L.). For the taxonomic determination of the species, specimens were sent properly mounted and labeled to specialists of different groups. We collected a total of 304 specimens belonging to the orders Hemiptera and Orthoptera in seven families, eight subfamilies, 18 genera and 24 species. The most abundant species were eptoglossus zonatus Dallas, Acanthocephala femorata Fabricius, Mozena lunata Burmeister, Hypselonotus intermedius Distant, Chariesterus moestus Burmeister e Hypselonotus concinnus concinnus Dallas (Hemiptera: Coreidae) with 32, 17, 15, 13, 13 and 10 individuals, respectively. However, collected species Rhyssocephala rufonotata Stål, Rhyssocephala infuscata Rider (Hemiptera: Pentatomidae), Salamancaniella alternata Dallas Hypselonotus concinnus concinnus Dallas (Hemiptera: Coreidae), Agrosoma placetis Medl., Erythrogonia areolata Signoret (Hemiptera: Cicadellidae) and Sphenarium purpurascens Charpentier (Orthoptera: Eumastacidae) are first records as potential pests of the fruit, because realted information was not found in previous literature.References
