El Orden Hymenoptera presenta una gran diversidad de especies y es el más importante en el Control Biológico de insectos plaga a nivel mundial. En la República Mexicana se han reportado 1,440 géneros y 5,974 especies pero existen muchas especies nuevas aún sin describir. En la Reserva de la Biosfera “El Cielo” se han colectado representantes 481 especies de 34 familias, incluyendo 99 especies nuevas descritas y publicadas recientemente (80 Ichneumonidae, 15 Aphelinidae, 2 Encyrtidae, 1 Eulophidae y 1 Ceraphronidae) por especialistas de la UAT. Además, el Museo de Insectos de la UAT aloja ejemplares de 294 géneros con 342 morfoespecies y material no determinado de otras 18 familias. En total, se conocen 52 familias de Hymenoptera con 446 géneros y 823 especies en “El Cielo”.Downloads
